I've got Potenzas, but not the Pole Positions. They are good tires in my opinion, and provide a nice roar at high speeds (keeps me awake at night). They grip very well also.
I say go for it, even though they are a little pricey. They are worth it.

EDIT- Now that I think of it, perhaps the excessive tire roar is due to the fact that I have only driven on them when I have had 20-30k miles on them. Didn't own the car when they were brand new.

Oh, and don't know if you care or not, but here is a link to the Potenzas that I have.

205/55R15 fits good with my stock GT rims right?

i had the so3's when i bought my car used. they gripped well but they finally wore out. not a long tread life but otherwise a great (and expensive) tire. i replaced em with cheaper but good toyo proxes 4. all still stock 16.

S-02's are nicer IMO.
