Just wondering how everyone else drives...
For Example (N-1 @2k RPM... also add lift if you are able)
1. from neutral to first
2. from first to second
3. from second to third
4. from third to fourth
5. from fourth to fifth
6. from fifth to sixth (GTS of course)

1. from neutral to first
Don't think I've ever done this.

2. from first to second
Usually 6k, right before lift (unless I need to go fast)

3. from second to third
I often hit redline from 2nd to 3rd... best way to get to 60.

4. from third to fourth
Redline about 40% of the time, I do a lot of highway driving (80 mph)

5. from fourth to fifth
Rarely redline here, unless I'm going from 80 to 100 quickly (like someone
trying to race on the freeway)

6. from fifth to sixth (GTS of course)
I don't use 5th much, for highway I usually go 4th -> 6th.
I've been close to redline in 5th, at about 120 a few times.

Looking back over these answer... no wonder I'm on my second transmission replacement smile

Recommended shifting speeds altitude of 4000 ft.>>
6 - speed and 5 speed (except the 6th gear)
1 to 2 or 2 to 1 15MPH
2 to 3 or 3 to 2 25
3 to 4 or 4 to 3 40
4 to 5 or 5 to 4 45
5 to 6 or 6 to 5 50
That's around 3500 each gear except 5th to 6th I believe. Of course entering traffic or going uphill you might want to accelerate more and shift later. Racing it's all out right to the fuel cut each gear.
Max. allowable speeds>>
5 - speed 6 - speed
1 35 1 37
2 57 2 58
3 78 3 80
4 106 4 101
5 ? 5 129
6 ?

Depends on how lazy I feel...

Sometimes, I'll wind out second and put it in 5th, or 4th, depending on the road.

If I'm driving normally, usually shift around 3.5 to 4, if I'm racing, redline.

I always start from 1st from a complete stop...but there are those times when I come to at stop sign and put it in second...but thats not really a total stop. smile

How 'bout downshifting? I don't downshift if I know I'm coming to a full stop anyways, I just cruise in neutral. How 'bout skipping gears (from 2nd --> 4th)? Isn't that bad for the transmission?

i wanna know if its bad if you go like 30 on 1st gear, and shift straight to 4th with 30mph. does that do anything to ur clutch? or or is there gonna be no power? when can you know its bad before smelling ur clutch?
