I tried all kinds of degreasers and nothing worked, but mothers mag and aluminum polish took nearly all of the black residue off mine plus left it nice and polished. took several tries to get it all off though

o i c, try some professional place or a steam cleaner, those work very well and i think you can buy something like that either at a Target or better a Wal-Mart, and im sure youd know how to do it already. Good luck though. thumbsup

could you paint your engine plastics yourself if you wanted to by sanding them down and using a few coats of automotive paint a clear coat or could you use engine paint
