The SR has just a slight loss of performance over the CAI, but if you're worried about hydrolocking, go for the SR thumbsup

The only way you will hydrolock is if the Intake is submerged in water. Submerged.

I have driven through some huge puddles, and nothing. You will not hydrolock unless you drive into a lake. If you are worried still, you can buy a bypass valve to put on your Cold Air Intake, but it will hinder performance slightly, and they are quite costly for what they are.

u dont have to do any cutting or any custom work if you get the AEM 2nd Gen CAI...(i dono about Injen)

so to answer ur question, yes you can take the CAI off after wards and put ur stock air box or another aftermarket Intake.. thumbsup
