Hello,

I have an 02 Celica GTS, and have been researching Turbo's for quite some time. A friend of mine has a shop and has custom built turbo's for MX6's, and 200SX's...

we were going to build and dyno a turbo for my car...the parts used were most likely going to be...

IHI V11 Turbo ( a bit smaller than XS's v23)
Supra Intercooler (stock) - Possibly upgrading to the front mount skyline that is 24X13X3

My question is everything i've seen for my celica is that the ECU will reset any type of Fuel Controler, AFC, or anything, unless you get a stand alone unit.

We were wondering if anyone has any idea's or experience with simply adding 4 400+ Injectors and running a seperate controler for those 4 injectors. Our reasoning is that this will bypass the ECU and never effect it. We can give the stats straight to the FC that we use for the new injectors, that way even under full boost, the engine will never know it's got the extra injectors.

The only down side we see is it is going to be a bitch to tune for fluctiations in weather, however if we tune it right the first time, we can tune it for certain conditions and the new FC will let you adjust at the RPM range, as well as boost lvl.

I was hoping for thoughts on this, any idea's are helpful and appreciated.

Oh on an additional side note, we are going to custom fab the exhaust manifold, and a new exhaust. We are tryin to run the exhaust out the driver side, behind the door (like the old school muscle cars in front of the rear wheel)

Just for a little something different...

Again all opinions are need and appreciated!

Thanks in advance for all the help

i don't know much about the fc or anything, but if you can do the custom exaust manifold and have it come out behiind the drivers door, that would be dif. and pretty cool IMO

Not a problem on the pics...

Just be patient (We are putting the car up on a lift Thursday at 5pm)

We had a bad ice storm in NC And my car had a nice time in a ditch due to about 2 inches of ice on a road near my house. Everything is fine on the car (so we think) and we are putting it up to make sure the manifold is fine, and there are no cracks or leaks. While we have it up there we are going to map out the design for the exhaust.

It should come out fine, we may have to fabricate a heat shield between the gas tank and the exhaust, due to heat, but it should work well. Muffler choice is going to be key I think...I'm all about OPINIONS on your favorite(S)..

And if anyone has any idea about the turbo question which is the main question i need help with, please chime in...

From what we can figure the hardest part is tuning, but cost of the total project is like 2grand and compared to the 5 g's for the XS kit, that's not bad...

We are thinking we will get 240WHP...our injectors are going to be half the size of the XS kit, but we are trying to calculate for any variables, and also make it a daily driver...
