I know this is pretty stupid but, I was just curious if you get a CAI and a aftermarket exhaust system (tanabe,5zigen,hks,etc) does it decrease the life span of your engine? cause I heard if you get a CAI in tends to make your engine run lean. Just curious. Thanks

From my understanding the ECU should make minor adjustments to the A/F ratio all by it's self. Of coarse, I think any mod you due to the engine will decrease the engine life, just like how you drive.
Nothing major to work about, IMO.

CAI=more cold air in ur system. exhaut=more flow
answer to ur question=no. wut will make ur car life shorten is torturing it. shifting quick, hitting lift, excessive wear... but ppl who put the cai and exhaust push the car to its limits more, thats why it breaks down quicker. its common sense, it shouldnt do anything to ur engine. exceptions when there too much cold air going in maybe? itll keep ur car cooler during cold days when you need it to warm up
p.s. if it is bad for ur engine, it is VERY minor. meaning ur engine dies 100-1000miles earlier.
