Right now I have Z rated 16 inch Potenza tires on my car that I have had since I bought the thing, and I was looking into getting some low profile tires. I like the low profile tires because of the look, but are there any serious side effects from getting low profile tires? Also, do they sell low profile 16's, or will I have to get bigger rims? Mine right now are somewhat low profile, but I was looking for a much slimmer look, so any suggestions of good low profile brands would be appreciated, and pictures would be nice if anyone has any. Thanks. thumbsup

Bump up to a bigger wheels say 17" or 18", low profile tires, and a drop. There's too much too say about that - do a search (don't mean to be a hard ass). I have 15" on right now with 205 55, a drop, and looks fine with only a minute 1"-2" gap on the fender if that. The bigger wheels and less rubber looks even better performs better too to a point. Lower profile, the harsher the ride. Less rubber and stiffer sidewalls to take the impact of bumps and potholes. I can't wait to put the 17" back on when it gets warm here though.

I've got 16's and 50 profiles. Looking to go slimmer.

If you change the height of the sidewalls without changing the rim size, you're going to throw off your gauges by a whole lot. The whole reason for having lower profile tires on bigger rims is to keep the overall size of the tire the same.

low profile loox way nicer than stock. but take into consideration once you have them. be more careful while parking. since its slimmer, less protection to ur rim. so if you hit a sidewalk lets say ur rim might bend a little and/or scratch easier than with thicker tires. recommed with bigger rims also for better loox. so save ur money and invest it later for a set

I just put new tires on my stock 16"ers. Got the Yoks Parada Spec 2 in the fronts in a 45 series, and went with Khumo Ecstas in the rear, and they are 50 series. With the lower profile tires in the front I could feel the difference in handeling, much tighter cornering.
