Hello dudes.
can nayone tell me why my gts lifts this way.
From stop(drag racing) it lifts at 5k5 rpm
From easy 3rd gear(running about 60km/h) it lifts @ 6k5 approx.
Is this normal. Cos i hear a lot of ppl say that Honda Vtec always lift at 5k5, no matter what!
Thanks before.

Might have to do with the weather conditions? I thought lift kicked in around the same rpm in each gear?

for mw this is no weather problem. this happend lots of time to me in the same day. And from what i see at the forums. when someone post soem videos i can see that theirs works the same as well. If the driver takes it a little easy i knows in later and then once in the fast cams it just stays in if shifted correctly.
As i said. from stop when i am dragging the lift seems to work much better than that when idling around in the streets having fun.

dude pretty sure the engine cams don't know what gear your in. Lift is going to engage based on the computer, ever thought your running the engine cold. Once the engine is warmed up lift engages as approx 6k

when it is cold lifting does not take place, in fact the rev limiter acts at 7k rpm.
But this happens to me when the engine temp is good.
Let me repeat my experience maybe i say it easier.
If i go to have a drag race., i find that lift acts at about 5k5-5k8, then one on the lift, i keep it lifted cos i shift quick enough to just drop the revs from 8k to 6k.
When i am driving calmly with the 3rd gear and then decides to kick in some power the lift acts at 6k5 or even 6k8. I have seen some videos in the Racing forum and his celica did lift later cos he did not have a fierce start.

The lift always kicks in at 6,000 RPM's unless cold conditions or broken/worn "lift bolts" no matter what. There is a bit more pull around 5,000 RPM's, but nothing like going into lift.
