Alright guys listen to this, it was just after school and my gf and I were in my car. I saw my little sister comeout of the building and I started to back up to go pick her up. I then realize it is pointless since she is about 20 yards away so i stop to wait for her(I am still atleast halway in my spot. So i stop, take the car out of reverse and put it in 1st and within two seconds, WHAM. I get out of my car and what do i see, A 16 year old blonde in a red saturn up against my celi. I tried my best to keep my cool because i filp out when my adrenaline gets going, but she tried to play it off like it was no big deal. There was no body damage but a chip and some scratches to my rear bumper. She said "well we just were both backing up and did not see each other." I told her that i was not moving and my reverse lights are not even on. Any way to shorten this story up heres what happened. Later that night, my dad(my inssurrance agent), called her parents and they said i backed into her and she said she had indep. witnesses to prove it angry. We knew they were lying because i called and consulted everyone around the accident and no one saw it. But, since both of my witnesses were impartial we figure we would have to eat the cost. But then at 7:15 the next morning, my dad calls me while i am on my way to school and tells me the girl confessed to her parents and that they did not want to go through insurrance smile. AHHHHHH i was so happy, it mad me so mad because i knew i was not at fault and so did my gf and sister. I am so glad she came clean but people really should take responsibility for their actions. I am guessing this was not the girl's first inccident. Well atleast the Celica will get a touch up. Sorry for the length but i needed to vent, i have never even bumped something since i got my license and within the first month of having a new car it got hit. I feel better now. grin

in maryland, it wouldn't matter if you were backing up, rear end accidents are the rear ending (word?) drivers fault, case closed.

Maybe i misinterpretted what you said but she was backing up and rear ended me...I was stopped so by law it was her fault, even if i was only halfway in my spot. But yea i will definately be more aware to defend against poor drivers next time.

Same in Missouri I think. Should be like that everywhere if it isn't already.

Good to hear a collision that actually worked out ok, good to see not much damage on the car and nobody was injured.
