So I just got my TRD rear strut tower bar and TRD sway bars from UPS. Put the tower bar in quite easily thanks to who ever did the install guide. Big thanks. The instructions that came with it were in Japanese so I was pretty lost otherwise. So then I decide to call the Toyota dealership to put in the sway bars and they quoted me 289$ to install both. Thats almost as much as I paid for the bars. What the hell. I was going to do it myself but I dont have an engine hoist to support it when the cradle is out and the cradle bolts are on tight. Anyone else have them installed for a decent price or is that about what I should expect?

Good god...

I think they quoted me like $300 to install a TRD exhaust. I wonder if the mechanics there drive ES or GS series Lexus.

Just called Toyota to get price quote on labor for TRD exhaust. "Well, sir...that will run you $400.00. since it's a 6 hour job." Yeah...RIGHT.

I don't take my car to Toyota either. I take it to my mechanic who's worked on my past 3 cars.

Yeah... 5 1/2 hours of your car sitting on the lot waiting, 30 minutes of actual work. You're just being billed about $350 for parking there.

umm, if you got quoted $50 then you should run with it, there is a lot involved with replacing the front sway bar. i could see if they charged $50 for the rear, the front you do have to drop the engine cradle. it took me 3 hours when i did mine. admittedly if it was not the first time i did it, or if i had impact wrenches i would have done it in 2 hours. jump on the $50, and have them give that to you in writing before you have them install it, because after they install it they will be like we did not charge near enough.
