well, it looks like HID, but it's kind of hard to tell without another car next to it to compare. my other guess would be mtecs.

if you are asking if i think they are too bright, then i would say 'yes'. but like i said...i need something to compare it to thumbsup

PIAA confused

I have HID's on my car, and they look nothing like that. Mine have more of a blue/purple prism effect to it...But I could be wrong, its hard to tell with pictures.

take the picture at night, I don't see a true blueish tint so, not HID

Do one light stock and the other what you have, take the picture at night, then repost thumbsup

suggestion: take night pictures, and compare urs with mtecs and regular lights. if you look at it closely, you gotta know how an HID looks. its brighter than mtecs. mtecs are like stock lights with a different color while HID is different color and brighter/stronger. compare urs with some other guys.

to me it doesnt look like HID. cz even at light when you look at an HID in that direction, its whiter and you can notice it less. and look at the left of the picture. the reflection of the light on the wall is yellowish. for better inspection, night pics

Well, see thats why its hard to tell if they are HID's from this pic. When you look directly in the center of the lights at night it will be pure white, and as soon as you move an inch you will see the "prism" of colors.

It an option!

However, the HID's are extremely blue. wink

They do look blue, but from a certain angle. I think you need to be a little bit over top of them, not level with them. idunno

I think if we got a night pic, it'd be pretty easy to tell.

Here's a crazy thought: PIAA has the name brand on the base of the bulb, so other brands probably do also.. why not just take out a bulb and have a looksy... spineyes

Me too, and it's not just for the appearance.

I had some pretty blue-ish bulbs on my last car, and it wasn't that they weren't bright..but you just can't see at well at night.

Since the road is black (or at least very dark), blue light does a lot less to light that up than white light.

I think the lights in the picture are PIAA. They are far more white than the fogs, so they aren't stock... but they don't have any sort of HID look to them either.

The problem is that G35 HIDs came stock on the car and are therefore legal.

If you put aftermarket bulbs in that are WAY blue, you run a chance of getting a ticket (against which you would likely be unable to successfully defend yourself).

beitch...even though the glass on the bulbs are blue, it doesn't mean the light is blue. stick with whites. buy them, test them, don't like them...then return them and tell the store one is brighter than the other... grin

anyway, don't think you have the PIAAs, they look pretty yellow to me. maybe eurolites? if PIAAs, maybe the "super white?" which are dimmer than extreme white or plus...

I was thinking about getting an HID conversion kit. Anyone recommend a good cheap one? Blue-er the better.

Actually, more blue isn't always that great...all it does is make it look nice, but the light isn't as bright.

Does your camera have a strap? Mine does, that way it doesn't fall out of your hand if you lose your grip.

Hope it gets fixed, though!
