I wanna buy my exhuats tonight or tommorow. know the obvious about these exhausts, but I need to know which is best for me. -TRD gets better gains then the Tanabe. -Tanabe sounds better. -Tanabe looks better (?) -Tanabe is cheaper. (Found Tanabe at $500, TRD at $525)
My questions now are... -What exhaust will last longer? -Will the TRD give a good sound? Or any sound at all (I have an Injen CAI)?
Also, if you know where I can find either exhaust cheaper or around those prices, leave a link for me, if you feel like it of course. Thanks guys.
don't know your location, but if you have a snowy/salty winter then the tanabe is probably more prone to visible corrosion. I have Apex N1 and just take it off for winters, so I would go with the Tanabe
I think both exhausts run around the same price...
Tanabe is louder and has a deeper sound to it than TRD Tanabe's outlet is bigger than TRD's Both would last the same...both has warranty..both are excellent quality
TRD has .2 higher gains than Tanabe...which isn't much of a difference
all in all...Tanabe is for the louder, deep sounding exhaust people...it performs awesome... but seriously, the sound is NICE
I live 22 miles south of Boston. We see a good amount of snow, and this car gets out a lot in the winter. With that information, would you say Tanabe or TRD?
afs is reputable, many people have gotten exhausts from there. the only bad part about tanabe is that the cannister is huge and kinda sticks out. im not too into the look but the sounds real good, but its a matter of opinion
I just wanted to let you know that I finally ordered my exhaust the other day. I decided to go with the Invidia catback exhaust. $399 from Splitting Imagez and shipping was free
I don't know if they'll be doing free shipping anymnore though because they tried to get me to pay shipping; told them the website said shipping was free, he confirmed it and viola! no shipping charge (which would've been about $45)
They were way helpful, I was able to get a GTS specific model (I didn't know there was one to begin with! I thought it was one-size fits all!)
I should be getting it at my doorstep sometime either tommorow or saturday
I'll be sure to post a review when it's installed, but that may not be until early spring, fyi.
Sounds good man, I'm ordering my Tanabe up tommorow from AFS
And thanks to everyone who helped me out with my exhaust decision! Its only taken me about a week to decide and probably like 5-10 differt threads (sorry I tend to be a post whore). But atleast I think I made the right decision now. Once again, Thanks for the help guys.
