Spend the extra money on an alpine with MX (Media Expander)
It really brings the music to life, and it replaces the missing parts of sound frequencies cut off in MP3 files.
I agree...but the media expander is overrated...if it has digital time correction you don't even need that
But i agree...ALPINE all the way
If you listen to MP3's, the reason the files are so small is because the MP3 format chops parts from the audible hearing frequency (20 Hz - 20 kHz.)
If you have good hearing, as many people do, you can tell the music is missing something. Media expander replaces the missing frequencies.
It has nothing to do with time delay, nate
Ok well i dont listen to MP3s on mine cause the quality SUCKS...i'm goin from the cd point of view...u can tweak the other settings to make it sound better
true, but I don't like luggin around a crap load of CD's.
an MP3 cd at 192 KHz with media expander sounds the same as a CD, and I only have one CD full of over 100 songs
Yea it all depends on the quality of ur stereo too...i dont' mind lugging cds around
I also have the stock speakers, so there isn't much quality to the music, it sounds decent. I spend my money on home stereo stuff, because around here, subs, TVs, stuff like that in my car would get stolen, since my car sits outside all night.
To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation To know even one life has breathed easier This is to have succeeded.

Very good point...i have a lot into my stereo in my car so yea...
So its Panasonic or Alpine. I'm having a little trouble with the Alpine units $250 to $500 for a cd player seems a bit much. I would rather keep the headunit cost under $200.
Check this site out for some great deals on head units and speakers. Personally I think Pioneer puts out the best sound quality. Good luck with whatever you choose. http://www.thezeb.com/
Etronics is the shit, price leader so far and a far better selection than Crutchfield or Sound Domain. Etronics prices are so good I think I'll upgrade buy a model or two.
