I heard you can get the aftermarket parts for ur car covered for ur car if you let ur insurance know what's up. Of course it would be extra for it... but then again I also heard about ppl getting into accidents and making up a buncha stuff they have on their cars that wasn't covered on their insurance, yet they get the money back. Which one is a myth?

I'm not sure but according to my insurence company ( State Farm ) ... as long as I keep all the reciepts of my mods they will cover them. To some extent of coarse.

Also everytime I change something I take pictures to prove that is what my car looks like grin

Didn't this cover warranty for aftermarket parts with the dealership? I didn't read all the pages to it but I'm talking about our insurance companies covering stuff such as a system, rims, performance parts, body kits and such.

I recently got an insurance quote from my employers insurance company and they asked me if I had aftermarket parts on my car which would be a factor in my monthly payments.

it is warranty, sorry.

your insurance company will almost always charge more for aftermarket parts (as already stated).

as far as people making things up..you really need receipts and/or pictures to get an insurance company to cover aftermarket parts. maybe they used a friends receipts for their own purposes?

you probably could...
but it all depends on many factors involving your insurance.
