How much would it cost to get my car check out? (Get the shop to hook their computer into my car's computer to see if there is anything wrong)

do you have a CEL (check engine light) on? the price probably depends upon the shop you go to..but i remember when my dad drove around in a taurus they charged him like $150 just to do the computer check (without fixing).

No my check engine light did not come on.

just had my paseo checked out 2 weeks ago, something like $89.

oh, ok...so this is for future use then, right? theres really no need to check it if you don't have a problem

damn... i do for free in auto shop at my school

i wish i would have done something like that when i was in high school...i was never interested in cars until a few years ago and i was already graduated

so i had to start learning everything offhand (haha, well everything that i do know...which isn't anything to brag about)
