Just bought 3rd generation JDM tail lights. Put them on and they look awesome, but there's a lot space between the body of my car and the trim of the lights. Is that normal for aftermarket parts? I'm just worried about water seeping through and shorting them out, anyone have the same problem or a solution? Will a litle weather stripping work, or look too tacky?

as long as there is a rubber water barrier between the car and the light it's fine. Mine do the same thing. It's normal.

I have the same tails and the gap is just like that. I havent had any problems with them at all. A couple months down the road you may want to go back and retighten them once they have set. Also I found that I didnt much like the chrome strip around the edge, and what i did was go get some trim tape. Its sold at your local Meijer and got some black trim tape. The stuff is designed to go over the crappy chrome trim some cars have. And its weather proof. I took the light off and ran the tape over the chrome trim. You do not need to crack the light open, there is a gap between the lens and the strip-so you can slide the tape in. It takes time, but was well worth it for me.
