I was thinking of trading in my 00 GT for a 00 or 01 GTS purely for the performance. I love my GT love the way it feels drives looks and all. (even the performance but a little more can not hurt smile) What do you guys think? would it be worth the money i never drove a GTS is the defference between the two real noticable? (if both are manual of course) Let me know what you guys think.

When you hit "lift" in a GTS it is noticeable. Up to you though, you do get some cool options with the S, but test it first, make sure you like the feel. The car is a little slower off the line than the GT, but it has more finish than start.

it's both a good idea and a bad idea. you VERY likely lose $5,000-$7000.

that said, i have a gts 6-spd and i love it to death. hitting lift is awesome. if thats what you want, then you should go for it. but personally, just from a monetary standpoint, i don't think its worth it.

yea, i was in the market intially for a gt, and then found a great deal on an a gts. def. worth the extra money. when it hits lift, it'll put a big smile on your face because that's when most cars start to slow down and you just speed up. test drive it, you'll probably fall in love with it, just like i did

like speed said, your likely to loose 5-7 grand just to get 40more hp, and 1 more gear. with 5 thousand dollars you can turbo your car, and get a new clutch and flywheel, and a bunch of other stuff. persinolly i would much rather have a turbo GT than an NA GTS

a month ago when i was shopping for my current celica, the 6speed GTS with body kit is priced at a super high $27,710. heck, for a few grand more, i could have got a 350Z, WRX, or lancer evolution 8.

if you really want speed, for additional 5-7 grand, it's not worth it...
