I have an '02 celica GTS and am seriously debating on whether or not to get the rev limit fixed. I have found the parts I need for pretty cheap, but have limited experience with working on engines. So I am not sure whether I really want to try the install or just leave it be. By the way, I've only taken it to the drag strip twice and its mostly a daily driver. If you were in my spot would you do it?

If you are a "daily driver" don't waste your money. How many times are you going to push the little engine that could over 8,000 RPM's? It doesn't like being at 8300 RPM's too often by the way, into redline and past peak HP and TQ. I guess this is for shifting into lift at any gear around the limiter. If you don't race or drive aggressively then don't bother.

I guess what really gets me steamed is that I have a limit on my car that all the other years of the celica don't. I do drive aggressively some of the time but I save most of that for going to the Rockingham drag way which is only 20min. from my house.

I'd love to hear from some people with 02's who have performed the install. Let me know how hard the install was for you on a scale of 1-10 ( 1=easy and 10=requiring an experienced mechanic). Any responses would be greatly appreciated grin
