Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Proc comp 3980 tach

It says standard ignition...I hooked it all up and the RPM's just rotated once and stuck at 8,000. I know I have the rev limiter wire located behind the gauge cluster!! I dont whats going wrong. Could any of you do some research on this tach and find out what Im doing wrong?? Thanks. I cant seem to find anything on it.

did you get it new? If not, you're supposed to clip 1 of the 2 wire looms that sick out the back of the tach housing.

No, I bought it off a freind who had never had it hooked up!! There is a white=power, black=ground, a green and a red. I dunno which is which.

dude red is power
black is ground
...thats the rule...pretty sure

Not the case..i thought that too!!! But the only one that would get power there was the white!! For real bro...its nuts. Red=NOT POWER.
