Do you guys notice that A LOT of the fixed/tuned up cars are usually drive too fast or too slow? I've noticing this since a few years ago. I either see them drive pass me at like 2000mph or on the far right lane driving like 30mph... on freeway ofcourse!!!

It's an ego thing... they want everyone to see them in their hooked up ride and envy them.

That make some sense... but I still think there are other reasons. Are they trying to take it easy on the engine or saving gas money for mods or what?

maybe... but it makes more sense that they drive the speed limit because they're more of a target for cops.

but under the speed limit? that's for attention

So is speeding for that matter, they figure that everyone will think their car is cool if they can fly by in traffic at 110 MPH

it's because lowered cars with body kits don't necessarily handle pot holes very well.

I actually think those guys know their roads well enough... They can't be driving very slow just to avoids the potholes on the road that they drive on every day. Especailly driving on the furthest right lane... Anyone in here actually drive like that?

Yeah the 'what up' factor comes in. Buddy rolls in his '04 yellow Celi at 30km/h doing the slow drive by blaring Obie Trice. Guys shake their heads, girls smile. As long as you get the reaction from the ones that matter. wink

on streets I drive exactly the speed limit and if I see a black/white, I dart for the closest parkingspot or nearest driveway... was getting pulled over several times a week (all through 2001) just to check for license and reg, only to be given a verbal warning - I haven't been pulled over once since now i avoid them rather than taking the chance that they might pull me over for something crazy.

Usually the people that drive slow which you referred too, they also like to have their windows down, their seats down, their bling bling up, and their music up... while driving all bent-over in the middle of the seats, head just peeping over the dash and their hat stuck-on all funny spineyes

I dont get it - I'm probably just too old to understand it rofl

ditto. many people i know with nice rides keep a low profile on the roads. this is BECAUSE they are attnetion getting cars. they get attention from everyone--especially cops.

i would say they drive slow to prevent any harm done to their nice rides: ex: rock chips, road debris if car is lowered, pot holes, preventing accidents etc etc.

yes, that's why I drive slow sometimes... I don't follow too close and try not to shift lanes until there's enough distance... helps me to keep getting high scores on paint at the shows

I think they drive slow because they think they are the fastest car on the road, and don't have anything to prove by driving fast. Also for the attention and perhaps to see if anyone will rev on them. No one ever revs on someone that's already flying past them unless they catch up to them miles down the road at a light or something.

Over here they drive fast... so fast that it's surprising that their big ass vinyls dun fly off their cars. They also like to switch lanes every 5 seconds and every now and then cut ppl off and break check them.

Me? I drive fast during the day and faster at night. Furious even. Wow.

definately. chances are they get stopped enough as it is--just for having a car that looks like that--so they don't need to give a cop ANY extra motivation.
