Shift light?

what is the use of a shift light???does it remind you to shift or somthin confused confused

IMHO, the blaring sound of the engine should remind you when to shift. I along with almost anyone who drives a manual (mainly except for beginners) doesn't even look at the RPM's when shifting, unless I'm in a race (don't wanna hit too high). So I think that maybe only a deaf person should need a shift light. grin

thats exactly what the lite is for...so you can shift at redline without takeing your eyes off the road. I like the shift lites but not the huge 7 inch tach's.

I'm sure a lot of people that race often just know when to shift at redline or a little after just by hearing the engine. I don't go that high too often, and I havn't had my Celica long enough to be able to do that.

i use my shift lite when I hit the racetracks...helps me to focus on going to all my gears flawlessly instead of having to take my eyes of the road for a split second to check my rpm's
