I think that everyone needs to include their coverage limits and deductables...

I'm 17 and mine is right around $250 a month for two cars. However, the limits are 100/200/100 with 0 deductable for comp...

I could cut that down to $150 a moth for two cars if I went with standard 15/30/5 like most brokers sell... but if I ever got into a bad accident I'd be screwed up the ass.

I got into some trouble driving my Celica and my insurance and surcharges are killing me plus I live in Jersey which makes it a lot worse. I have 1 more year of surcharges and my insurance should go down a couple hundred, I hope. The previous year I was paying more on insurance than that.

You hit the nail on the head. There are a lot of bad things in NJ, but relative to this site, driving and everything included in that just sucks! You want to know about a "Jersey driver", out of control insurance, and terrible roads then come to the Garbage State.

1200 a year for full coverage on my Celica and my wifes Mustang. $100.00 deductible, 0 comp, 100/200/100 coverage

I love Allstate, being married, over 25, and a clean record helps a ton.

Used to pay 310 a month, now it's 140. San Antonio drivers pay out the ass, 300 is the norm. I have my insurance in washington along with my registration, and my license that doesn't expire.

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys who are saying you have "full coverage" mean? The term really doesn't exist in the insurance world, as there is a limitless amount of liability coverage you can have. It's like saying your bank account is "full".

Not trying to knock anyone at all... I thought I had great insurance before I started my job, then got enough information to realize that it was totally inadequate. Just doing what I can to make sure everyone is fully informed... with the atmosphere of increasing lawsuits these days you can never be too safe, and many brokers/agents will use deceptive terms like "full coverage" to sell you something that gives you NO protection if you injure someone.

In Michigan, all car insurance covers other peoples medical bills, it is required by law.

When you get minimum madatory coverage here, the insurance company pays for other peoples injuries but they will not pay for any damages to your car. It still costs quite a bit IMO. Insurance is a huge scam, if I had all the money that I have been paying to insurance companies since I was 16 going into a bank account instead of their pockets, I would have enough reserve money to completely replace a brand new car by now. And if you ever do get into an accident, they just raise your rates so you really end up paying for all the repairs out of your pocket any way. angry

in new orleans, only 50% of drivers have insurance (officially..i'm not joking) of course this is against the law so the people that DO pay insurance pay a LOT of it.

i have no wrecks, no tickets, under my parents...and i get very cheap (relatively..for my area) insurance for $300 a month thumbsdown

I'm not even going to post my number, it's easily 2x the highest posted number here.

Maryland can kiss my ass. I also have to pay 15% new local state on my gross adjusted salary this year.

That makes me state tax percentage 35%

Fuck you, Maryland.
