O man, you're giving up white for a red, I'd much prefer a white. But, nonetheless, it is your decision and that's your's to make, plus it's standard so I don't know, hard decision for me to make. Good choice...I suppose thumbsup

in my opinion, a sports car isn't a true sports car unless its driven manually. (lol, i'm probably biased of course). w/an automatic transmission, the celica is more of a 'sporty looking' car.

that said..i hate traffic..it sucks with a standard. period.

so does eating, talking on a cell phone, or anything else that requires the use of your hands. you can do these things..and with enough experience it's almost second nature..but it will always be more difficult than with an automatic.

that said, i think driving a standard makes you concentrate at least slighty more than an auto (i have owned both transmission types) because you are constantly made to react to your surroundings more than with an auto tranny (exception would be highway driving and/or when using cruise control)

That's great because that's how I was brought up to believe. When I was 10, someone, I dunno who, someone said to me
"Owning a sports car without having a stick is like having a dick without being able to f*ck."

So after that, an auto sports car to me was an oxy-moron.

hmmm, a trade... auto for manual... I wonder if... But my car's been through too much, I'd probably have to be the one to pay the difference! frown Plus my baby's been with me since the first day, I don't know if I could just trade her in like that...

Did you or had the chance to take a GTS? What did they quote you on the difference? If so?

you'll get it...you can't do ANY worse than i did. i learned how to drive my celica by myself...(bad idea) since it was a 6-spd and the gears are different, i always though 1st gear was STRAIGHT UP (this is obviously 3rd gear). yeah, did you know its possible to launch a celica gts 6-spd from 3rd gear?? i actually (truthfully) drove around about 3 days before i figured out where 3rd was...and miraculously i didn't stall that much. but i burnt my clutch up like hell (i just attributed it to inexperienced driving at the time)
