Well, after my window was smashed from, from my recent break-in, i had to get my window replaced. I went to a place around here and they replaced the windows. All went well, except now air comes though my window when I drive or with any cross wind. Annoying, yes. So i took it back to the shop, they fixed it. . . drove it. and air still comes though. I took it back once again, and now they are telling me that i am missing pieces from the mechinism that rolls the window up. OK fine, so they order'd the parts. installed them, and it STILL LETS AIR COME THE FUCK THOUGH. ahhh.

So my question is. i think that its the rubber molding around my window that needs to be replaced, it just doesn't seem like its making a flush fit. when i look at the window with my door closed, i can kinda see an area where the rubber gets folded in, and air can come though.

Can you buy a replacement rubber window pieces? and if so, where

Since I got my new Celica in 2002 I have dealt with wind noise. For me it is coming from the passenger side. I made a fuss about it before taking delivery of the car. The dealership replaced the window weather molding and it still didn't help. They said it is just a common problem with Celicas. I've kinda just dealt with it. Now, I think it has gotten louder. Personally, I think it has nothing to do with the window rubber. I think it is the side mirror. There seems to be a gap between the mirror rubber and the glass. I need to work on it and see if it helps. Good luck to you!

hmm. this is the first time that i've ever heard anyone say that. I don't see how a car can come with a minor defect like that. it has to be fixable. . has to be. . I will seriously think about selling the car, just because of that, and buying another one. its too annoying

if ur car was hit from the door and repaired, the quoted might have been true. but ur glass was only broken so thats different case. one thing you can do is add dynamat, it will probably help a little, but thatll be ur last resort. if i were u, i would strip down the door and see it myself wuts wrong with it. im thinkin that ur power window unit is a little messed up. maybe the installer didnt do it perfectly. is the glass aftermarket or original from toyota? is that window part original? if not, the minor glass size difference will make wind noise, or the unit that raises ur window is a little bent and when windows going up, its not going the exact right direction. im sure ull find ur answer if you strip down ur door. maybe theres a part that they forgot to put back while reassembling ur door or didnt reassamble well. if none of these work, just get a frickin celica door from junkyard or something instead of trading in ur celica
good luck

either take a ride with someone else who owns a Celica or take a test drive in a new one from the Toyota dealership... do you still hear that noise on the different Celica?

I get noise too, but a conversation or the sound from the radio being set to listening levels, quickly drowns out that noise thumbsup

well, i fixed it.. b4 i went to the gas station i push'd the molding up. drove to the gas station, and noticed it was a lot less. .and i noticed it was still coming in from the upper corner. so i pushed that up more, and then drove to my GF house. NO WIND noise. except the road noise. but its gone .i think when the smashed me window, it bend the piece a little. . but all is well, and im finally happy. now to start buying back my audio equipment.

I hear wind noises when the wind comes in from the side of the car and seems to catch the front side pillars (next to the front winshield)
