When i drive my car with no music i can hear some "shhhhhh" sound for a few seconds and it goes away. It happens every 30 or 40 secs or so and it seems like it happens more often when i press on the gas pedal. I can swear that i do not think it was like that always i think it started a couple of days back. Does anyone knows what could it be or what can cause it? The sound is not loud but to me it is smile. Please guys, help!!!!!!!

Yeah I also hear that same noise. It's when you step on the gas Right? I hear that noise only when I don't warm up my car, but after a while the noise goes away. I think it is normal. I think?? confused

if your radio is still on, maybe you're talking about the alternator noise that you hear more and more you rev'up.

If not maybe you had the same trouble i allready had with my 2002 GT. Try experience this.

Is the sound only apear when you press the gas just a little?

Do you hear the sound on each gear?

try driving at about 40mph and try each gear, all at the same speed.. If your hear the sound stronger bad news dude frown

Tranny problem for me, Some bearing to change...

I was thinking that. Many people never turn "off" their stereo, they simply turn the volume to 0. If your radio is on with zero volume and there is an amp, the alternator can be heard over the speakers as you rev the car.

ok thats how it goes, i do have the sound system but got a capasitor with it so it should be fine. It sounds something like "shhhhhh" and its happening for like 4 or so secs and then stops it happens about every 40 secs but seems to happen when i press down my gas pedal. I did try driving with my defroster off and it seems like the sound stoped and when i have it on a few secs later what i described above happens again. Is there something wrong with my car frown?

It is perfectly normal. It's your air conditioning condensor turning on and off.

A lot of people don't realize this, but when ever you turn the heater controls to defrost, the air conditioner is running to draw moisture out of the air. Even though you have the heat on and you are blowing hot air out of the vent, the AC is still on. thumbsup

Same here. An audio shop told that I have a bad output on my head unit. I do have one of the sub preouts that doesn't work. I have a spliter so that the audio can go to both subs. I have more of a speaker flutter. I hear it no matter what I turn on in my car, even my head lights. I wanna plug in another Pioneer head unit and see if it truly is my headunit. I've tried every thing else. Different grounds, different wires, everything except a capacitor. Any thoughts, let me know. I've had this for a whole year now. Thanx.

PS, sorry to steal yer post. I'm glad your question is fixed.

I don't think that that's the sound he's talking about, although I may be wrong. He said that the sound goes away after the car warms up. The fan you were talking about still cuts on even after the car is warm. More than likely it's your belt tensioner. If it starts to rattle more after a while, that's probably what it is. No big deal though.
