hey ppol. i just wanna make sure what kind of brakes should i get. well im debating about brembo drilled or slotted rotors or aem big brakes kit. cause i wanna change also the brake pads and i dont know wat come with the brembo and aem kit. so help me guys about this, thank you!

for the brembo big brake kit..you need at least 17" wheels. do you have aftermakets? if so, the big brake kit is the way to go.

i have the AEM big brakes...if you want performance increase in brakes...Don't get AEM...they are mainly for looks...

the brembo sport brakes are like $125-150 PER ROTOR.

The brembo big brake kit is like $4K, and you need 17"

you can get brembo oem style rotors, ebc green stuff pads, all for about $270 shipped, and it will work awesome.

If you want looks, go with rotora/powerslot thumbsup

Hawk or EBC street pads with EBC or Powerslot Rotors. Will cost you around $280, you can order from tirerack.com

I have Powerslot rotors with EBC "greenstuff" street pads.

BTW RicePowered has Powerslot rotors with Hawk street pads.

the green stuff pads work great~
i dont think you will need to get the big brake kit if you are only for daily driving. unless you love the looking~ lol

Besides, all the slotted ones are good for is looks. If you are just a daily driver, the slots will only wear down the life of the pad.

You will not see any benefit to slotted rotors unless you ride your brakes hard for long periods of time, then you will notice less fade.

But, in daily driving, the stopping distance is reduced with slots, thanks to less surface area.

it's the pads.

All the slots do is vent the gases from under the pad. You will notice a huge improvement on brake fade.

However, in daily driving, the reduced surface area of the rotor will cause a longer stopping distance.

That is, with the same pads. If you compare stock pads rotors to ebc pads/powerslots the pads make the difference thumbsup

So your saying EBC pads on Brembo OEM rotors could show the same results as EBC on Powerslot rotors.

well, the same results in daily driving.

if you take it to a track, and you ride the brakes hard for long periods of time, the powerslots will lessen brake fade, giving you the advantage thumbsup

yeah, the look might be worth that. Hell there are plenty of parts for the celica that are just for looks that cost way more than that, park bench wing for example.

thanks guys for the replies, i didnt really thought that many will give a comment. well i didnt really decided yet well i want the looks and the performance, i checked the tirerack.com and i was surprised with the prizes. well wat you guys thinks cause i drive 50 miles a day and im kinda hard on brakes. hehehe...lol! and i wanna be able to put my stock rims on winter time too you know.. well thanks again and hope you guys reply... thank you!

I always liked the look of Baer and I'm sure the performance will beat stock. But I am not sure if they make a kit for the 7th gen Celica either big brake or stock pads, rotors, or caliper combination. I'm sure they don't. Why not go for the over priced TRD big brake kit? There are many other combinations depending on money.

I dont think BREMBO makes rear calipers for the GTS. They only make the fronts.

^ They don't. You can get the front big brake kit which will set you back $2155 + shipping and get their rear brakes which are $165 + shipping a piece. You'll have Brembo's on all four and stop like a mofo

yes, and after shipping/install it will be about $4K.

$270 shipped + $80 install for oem style rotors and ebc pads, and it stops hard enough to engage abs on dry pavement. that's all you need to do ( www.tirerack.com [tirerack.com] )

i think there is one company that is coming out with a kit that replaces all 4 rotors, and all 4 calipers, and hawk pads, but i can't remember who it is. i'll try and find it, but i still think diablos find is better

Stoptech maybe? They also make high quality big brake kits. I think TRD contracts them for their big brake kit.

I drive 140 miles a day, on my EBC/Powerslot set up, so far so good (more like much better). BTW I'm on stock 15's for the winter.
