Referr to the papers that came with the speakers...I'm assuming you bought them new. If not look the subs up on the internet, maybe JBL's web site. It should give box volumes for sealed boxes, ported boxes, and bandpass boxes. There is really no way of knowing if it will sound good untill you hear it for yourself. Personally, I think a bandpass sounds messy, I would just go with a sealed box if you want a solid thump.

JBL knows that everybody has different tastes in bass that's why they designed GTO Series subwoofers to work great in sealed, vented, or bandpass enclosures. JBL packed over a half century of speaker-building experience into creating these GTO subs, so you can hear bass the way you like it!The GT100 10" subwoofer comes out swinging with a polypropylene cone that's lightweight and ultra-efficient, so you won't need as much power to push your bass. But if you like it louder than life, the butyl rubber surround, dual 40-ounce magnets, and progressive spider ensure that this woofer won't bottom out when the going gets tough.

It says basically any type of box would work, but i wouldnt go with a bandpass, like nemisiscelica said a sealed is a solid way to go!!

If you're going for a bandbass box, you definitely need computer program for calculating right size for each box and tube.

I have experience about 2 JBL GT (10") in a bandbass box. I think those GT's aren't sold anymore.

Well the bass went REALLY low, but I made a mistake when I didn't checkout what kind of group delay will become. It was something like 30-40 ms and you definitely can notice that. Bass comes delayed. I think you can have a good bandbass subwoofer, but you must be very carefull calculating dimensions.

I'd say closed enclosure is a good solution.

good move!!! or you could go with a Q-Logic box which gives you the option of ported. it comes with a plug to keep it sealed then to make it ported. this way you can choose the sound you like best!
