I recieved my 7.2" screen today and connected the ps2 to it. everything is ready to rock and roll except i got a lil problem. there is a cable that runs from the screen. it has two ends which divides into 2 cables. on the red one it says "power 12v" on the black it says "GND". i figured that would be the power for the screen. where am i supposed to connect this now? i know you fellas know the answer.
help me out.
thx

You cig lighter is 12v if I am correct. Just open up your console and splice the red wire for your screen into the cig lighter's red wire, and the green into the green wire in your cig lighter.
Or route under the hood and splice it in with something there. Where? I'm not too sure. I don't know a lot about the Celly's electrical system. Most likely to something like a parking light or something. It's a pain in the ass to feed it under the hood because you will most likely have to attach an extension to make the wire reach, and you have to feed it through the firewall. Pain in the ass.

Also, GND stands for ground, and both wires have to be hooked up in order for the screen to work. If you don't ground it, it won't work.

Or route to a wire in the fuse box under the hood? confused
Also, here's a guide someone used to give a neon rod in their console power. ROARRRR [clubcelica.com] They did the same thing with the cig lighter. You get the picture.

Also, please don't do this until someone else verifies that it will be safe to do so. I'm just guessing here. thumbsup

another alternate route could be using your stereo wires. you could connect the positive to the blue wire which would then turn it on when the car is started. and for the ground just splice it into the black. im assuming you have an aftermarket deck. the blue wire is for a remote turn on like when adding an amp or a power antenna.

12 volt cig would prob be easier, just because it's more accessable, but any source will workand as long as it can't touch anyother wires it will be safe. same thing for the ground, it can also go under a bolt somewhere thats metal
