If I were you I would get some soap and water wash that area and rinse it off. Better you get wet than let the gas eat at your paint. You wont melt

Is gas even harmful to paint? I've never seen gas damage a paint finish before.

Is gas even harmful to paint? I've never seen gas damage a paint finish before. over time and if done a lot...yes...gas acts as a solvent...and can break down the oils in paint...which is why waxing a car is important to preserve the oils in the paint...maybe someone can back me up on this

3 hours? That has to be nice, mine was out all day, 6 a.m. til 7:00 p.m.
I remember I did that before I fixed that gas tank problem the '03 Celicas were having. For those with '03 you might know what I'm talking about. Anyways, it would just squirt out and get on my panels. What I did, right away, is grab that squigee/sponge thing for your window and gave the car a quick splash with it. Mine's going in next week to have the entire gas tank replaced because of it R U going to have to pay anything EvanJ? Like they said, it's free because it was a safety recall.. but it's still a pain to have to be out of a car for 3 hours while they fix it.
Wow, you guys should talk to your dealers. They gave me a loaner car when I dropped my celi off so they could check to see if I had the problem. They should GIVE you a loaner if its going in to have that done.

Yeah Heat, but your 26. Toyota has also always given me a rental when doing warranty work, but I am 25. A lot of these younger people are probably not eligable for a rental loaner because they are not old enough...which is a bunch of crap of course.

I know what you mean, they have never had my balls though. 3 hours? That has to be nice, mine was out all day, 6 a.m. til 7:00 p.m. We'll see.. that's what they told me, but you know how 3 hours can easily turn into a whole day when the dealer has you by the balls.

I had a rental car as well, I think it was the Corolla~ I wouldn't leave without a rental 3 hours? YEA JUST wipe it off right away, its no big deal really. Just don't leave it there. I get drips on my car just about everytime I get gas and I have yet to see the negative effects. Just don't leave it there all day.
