hey guys, after you lowered ur cars, if you change the stock shocks to say TRD shocks, does it make the ride more pleasureable (as in less bumpy, more smoother)??? confused

if any of you guys changed their shocks, what did it do in respect to the ride of the car, and what shocks do you recommend for our celies?

OH yeah, and when do you know when to change our shocks?

THnaks!!! smile really appreciate it

after I bought my hotchkis springs I bought a set of kyb adjustible struts, they're 4 way adjustible so you can set it up as soft or as stiff as you like. As for the ride, its way better. I bought them at thre tire rack for $460 for the whole set rice

most experiences with dropped cars is that the ride is more rough. you should consider adjustable shocks, though..i'm not sure about them.

my first choice would be Koni's. costs more but is worth it. KYB, Tokico, etc. are made for stock height, and no matter what brand you get your shocks will deteriorate just as fast. Koni makes shortened shocks for lowered cars, so i would go with Koni

Just to add to his question, does the handling significantly get better with after market shocks added after already having the car lowered? I have lowering springs already and am wondering if I should wait another few months for the combo or just go through the pain of putting on (TEIN) springs now?

yes. lowering springs increase handling. this is because (as already mentioned) they are almost always stiffer so cornering is much improved.

that said, you should notice no difference in performance going in a relatively straight line. the only difference will be the feeling of the bumps you hit.
