Hey you guys, it's been a long time since I posted ( I guess 4 months) well anyways, as soon as my sister is getting out of college, my dad is planning to get me a car. Well besides the celica, I have others in the line up: Subaru WRX sti, Mazda6, Mazda3, Porche Boxster ( If he will let me), Acura RSX type-s, Saab 9-3 Viggen Coupe, and that's all I can remember. which one do you think, I'm strongly attached to the Mazda6...for now.

WRX: great performing car, a little ugly
Mazda 6: good simple looking car, good performance. i love the engine noise of this car, and it would sound great with a short ram (v6). in a different category then the other cars listed. 4 doors with lots of room...
Mazda 3: dunoo
Boxster: OK. expensive from the others, and i would recommend if paying that much money, get boxster S
RSX-S: good performance, slower than the cars listed. great simple look
Saab: dunno bout the model you talkin bout. good cars but have a lot of problem after a certain mile IMO. labor/parts cost alot.
if you want a 4dr go w/ mazda6, 2 dr go with porsche. did you forget g35?

i just saw a mazda 3 and damn that thing looks pretty dope. mazda is improving by looks and performance. evo8 is a good idea, way better looking then wrx sti, but duno nothing about its durability. just go to the dealers and test drive em all and let us know how they feel

just don't buy a boxter...it's really not a true porsche.

sti or evo if you want performance.

evo has the greatest handling but some have complained that its quick handling (i think 2.9 turns of the steering wheel from end to end) is a headache on casual drives home)

sti has the greatest drivetrain. its made for acceleration. power pages magazine has said it takes 2 shifts (3rd gear) to get into the 60 mph range.

If you want constant punani, go Porsche. grin
If you want less maintenance, go with an Import.
If you want speed and performance, go STi.

I've driven the Mazda6, and it handles real well. I was really impressed with the way this car handled. Remember tho, can you pay for the insurance for the high-performance cars (STi, Boxster), or is mommy and daddy gonna pay for that too?

i used to think of it that way, but its a wrong way to think just cz Ford owns them. Ford owns a lot of other good cars like Jaguar and stuffs, and there still reliable cars. Ford dont make these cars, they are just the owner of the company, they are there financially! so nothing on mazda is a ford part. mazda 6 is a good car if you thinkin of a 4 door family type sedan. try lookin for tsx also their good looking cars also.
if you want aftermarket support, forget euros.

actually a lot of ford parts are used on mazda cars, and some are even the same car, ie. ford explorer, masda navao(spelling), they are the exact same car, and a lot of other cars share parts

one reason I said about the porshe boxster is that there is a ured one on sale at the toyota dealership 4 44,000. I think it's a 2003 model. Acura Rsx is a nice car and even better when you put a kit. The sti I was thinking about, but it's mileage is low ( I think 15-18 a gallon )The Saab I don't know why I put it, but I've seen some nice ones. Well So far I narrowed it to Mazda6, subaru Wrx sti, and the acura. Hopefully I'll be able to choose which one. wave

Your choice in the end I suppose, test drive all of them, looks wise I would say Boxster or Celi.

this is true. many ford parts are used in mazda cars and vice-versa. but lately the trend has been to develop each brand independently so this has stopped dramatically.

that said, ford owns such brands as jaguar (already mentioned) aston martin, land rover, etc...they have the capability of producing some of the best vehicles in the world.

I would go for the RX-8 if you're considering a 6.

Other than that, a nice 4 door would be the STi or EVO-8.

yes, the new db9 looks very similar to the vanquish. and aston martins all have that unmistakable brand look to them (sort of like what cadillac is now doing...you can look at all those edges and just know its a cadillac..whether or not you've actually seen the car or not.)

The only two cars I'd consider from that list are the STi or the 6. If you want to race, there isn't much out there to top the STi. If you want daily-driver comfort with a little kick under the hood and great quality, get the 6...

I know that a lot of people either say that the 6 is "just as bad as a Ford" or that it's of lower quality because of price... but after owning a Mazda, you'll fall in love with them like I did. I was 50/50 between the 6 and the Celi when I went out to buy my car... and sometimes I still wonder if I made the right decision. One awesome car.

yeah, true that. but i actually think they're making them with basically all aston martin parts now...haha cause all the jaguar owners started complaining that they had ford parts in their cars..and who could blame them. if i buy a jaguar i wouldnt want crappy ford parts either. meedless to say the new jags use jaguar parts as well.
