they don't work, custom mount a Hyper-Brite LED, search ebay for them. for the ac controls, there is a curved neon that walmart sells, i can't rember the name but it is a stereo decorating thing, you have to break off the plastic around it, but it works much better then the bulb covers, i will post pics of mine if i get a chance. i went though this project for several months last year. those bulb covers look green.

haha birth control denial! but really why wouldnt they work (not disagreeig with you) do you have a personal experience with this?

tape is more simple imo, but the condoms should work.

They don't because I took off my green covers and the console still appeared green. The lettering and other areas where the light escapes is tinted with a little bit of green also. And the blue condoms would make a color change, but a lot of light wouldn't be getting out either.

And as for the neons, don't those need to be plugged in to work? I tried looking for some to put in the dash, and all of them had a cig lighter adapter with them.

ohh..gotcha.

so how do you get around this? do you just need a brighter different colored light as a neon to offset the slight green tint on the covers?

and so the tape wouldnt work either, right?

Just replace the bulbs with blue led's. No soldering required, just screw them into the plastic plugs they are in.

i do have experiance with the condoms, this think: My Dash using the condoms [members.aol.com]

is what it looks like when you use the condoms to do it, the install guide above that is what it looks like with the neons and the hyper brite led. i tried several different options with this project, and the neon+led was by far the best option.

BTW: the tape produces a similar effect, i don't have any pics of it, but it looks similar. out of curiousity has anyone tried changing the LEDs in the clock yet?

I just need to figure out how to get the new led bulbs into the plastic sockets, and the old ones out.

The ones I saw there came in packs of three and were too big. Also, there were three different colors in each pack which is bullshit if you ask me.

why dont you guys change the led when its as easy as putting the condom on the head, i mean light rofl
when you put the condom on, its just gonna ruin its brightness. im sure a led will be way brighter than that plastic thing. imagine if you ge these leds that change color every few secs and replace it with the stock! thumbsdown
