Yeah it sucks but it's not that big of a deal really.. you just take your car to the dealer and they fix it for free.
As I'm sure many of you know, there were quite a large number of 2002-03 Celicas that were recalled due to a Fuel Tank Check Valve Safety Recall. In the worst case scenario, your car could explode by just simply filling the gas tank. Nobody's perfect
The car can't explode, it simply overfills the gas tank because the valve falls into the tank, and when you fill up at a gas station the automatic shiut off doesn't work and it spurts out of the tank.
Yes, I know that. And spilled gasoline could be ignited by an open flame, a spark from numerous possible sources (static electricity, a cell phone, etc)..which could cause an explosion if the fire reached your gas tank. I was quoting
from the recall notice toyota sent me. I realize it is not LIKELY, but is possible. Like I said "WORST CASE SCENARIO". So, yes, the car COULD explode
