Hi, all you who have installed your sound systems, give me a hint where's a good spot to pass big wire through firewall.

And in the trunk, is there a good place for grounding wire?

Thanks in advance!

lay in ur driver side seat and put ur head up behind the steering column. . . you will see the wires going towards the center of the wall, into the engine , there is a plastic / rubber groumet. get a coat hanger and stick it though and it will come out into the engine bay. easiest and safest place.

I ran a new hole throught the rubber grommet around the main wiring harness under the driver dash, Punched through with a screwdriver and a frind about watching for snaggs, ran a piece of wire through and pulled wiring from htere. was a bitch to do. I suggest having a small child or someone with very small hands pull them through from hte top... Was a bitch on hte GTS had to have my neice come over and grab them lol

I'm sure. When I got my car, I installed the alarm and getting those small wires from siren through passenger side firewall was difficult job.

I think getting big cable through firewall will be the hardest part of my sound system installation. Building subwoofer box is easy.

I just found the best way to run the wire, which is using the wheel wheel.

Here are a couple of pics showing how to do it.

First take off your kick panel and locate where the hood release cable goes through the firewall. Then take your wheel well plasic off the drivers side. Locate were the hood cable goes through from the wheel well and locate the rubber grommet and cut the nipple off the grommet. Then from the inside push the wire through the hole in the rubber grommet. You must lube the wire to push it through.

Zip tie the wire to the hood cable and then run it through a hole that leads to the engine compartment.

Then just grap a hold of the wire from the engine compartment and pull it through and connect to the battery.

As for the ground I grounded my amps underneath the middle rear seat bracket that is right infront of the trunk cargo holder. Just sand down the paint.
