I'm looking for a new shift knob, preferably with a metallic look with any sort of red trim and has the 6-shift diagram on it. Also, how do I know if it's going to fit (threadsize, etc.)?

Anyone got any good suggestions? Thanks.

You live in california, if you live in southern cali you know how hot it can get during the summer. I had a metallic shift knob that use to burn my hand after letting my car sit in the sun for more than a few hours. Trust me the metal ones get HOT. thumbsup

Good point. Thanks, man. Metallic is out. lol.

I'm still looking for something with red and has the 6-shift diagram, though.

Any ideas?

all the TRD ones are great...

i have the "anatomic" leather one... the jdm resin ones and the leather ball sifter also feel great...

the MOMO race air line is also a popular choice...

If you do decide to get a metallic shifter, just keep a sock over it when it's hot.

dont buy momo or sparco...they are universal and therefore are nowhere near as good as TRD. You could get a trd leather knob and dye it red.

my friend has a momo knob and he's never had a problem, after 3 years

most universal knobs work fine if it's a good quality brand, the universal ones from autozone however are cheap and won't last long

I kind of liked the B&M knob that came with my shifter, but I put the stock one back on because now that it's winter the metal B&M knob was really cold.

cant you just try to dye the stock shift knob the red that you want? i think ive seen the guys who do shows either dye or airbrush the knobs and put this hard glossy coating over it.

yes. most shifters are not labelled to begin with..and the few that are labled are mostly 5 speeds due to the fact that most manuals are 5-speeds.

because of the relatively few cars that use 6-speed shifters, the aftermarket opportunity is decreased.
