I'm wondering what the difference in power gains is with the two, so far i know greddy's has been used on a stock mr2 and has made 6 hp at the wheels, and claims to gain more for a celica with mods, but i once heard that the apexi super fc can get you 20 more hp. Any help on this would be appreciated.

apexi IS the standard when it comes to ecu tuning thumbsup everyone else is still playing catchup...at least for now.

although the 20 hp just from retuning an ecu (or were there performance mods to go with it??) doesnt sound too healthy for your engine.

I think the test was done with a new intake and maybe exhaust, this was about a month or two ago i heard about it. greddy is pretuned for all your mods though, might be a bit safer on the engine, not sure.

well the apexi itself isnt hard on your engine...i was just saying trying to get 20 extra horses out of a stock celica is a little much and i'm sure it'd have to be putting extra wear on your engine.

with an intake an exhaust its not THAT much of a strain. thats pretty good power extraction considerring most intakes will give you 2-5 horses pure bolt-on and most exhausts will give you 3-6 hoses pure bolt on. so the super fc (if it was actually intake an exhaust) just "gave" that car about 12 horses. not bad thumbsup

sorry to say..if you are talking about the apexi SAFC..it doesnt work on the celica. the stock ECU will override it or something like that. on the other hand..the apexi POWER fc WILL work..because i believe it is a full ECU replacement. dont quote me if im wrong..but the safc is useless

Yeah, safc doesn't do anything, the power fc is a replacement ecu, sorry for saying super fc, i couldn't remember the name.

well the lotus ppl tuned our yamaha engine in our celica gts' and got 190 horses out of it. thats 10 free horses just from toolikng around.

with aftermarket parts added, tuning devices can extract even moer without hurting your engine thumbsup

The GReddy Emanage is a very powerful unit, I just don't know how efficient it is with the Celica.
