When you make a turn a little too fast(20 MPH) when there's a good amount of snow coming down & on the ground when you have 18" wheels wrapped in low profiles. This happened on 12/13/03 on my way to watch the fights on PPV. I made a left turn & slid straight into a high sidewalk on a main street. If it wasn't for the sidewalk I would've wiped out some pedestrians! Anyway I got my ride back from the shop today(replaced lower wheel arm & balanced)---$500. That doesn't include a new front passenger rim that is now pretty screwed. The car was lifted above my head in the shop & when the mechanic rotated it, it was crooked but looks like I may be able to use it a short while(damn thing is a little bent). I believe a new rim will cost me like $350 so the total may be like $850. Thank God I did my X-mas shopping almost a month ago! The pic doesn't show all the damage sustained. It looks pretty bad. Oh well like they say...shit happens!

sucks dude...but as you say shit happens. If its not too bent use it for the winter then grab yourself a new rim. Some people grab a set of shitty rims off ebay for winter use.

Damn that is bad news bro, don't sweat it tho like you said at least you didnt hit anybody and your not hurt yourself, it could've been a lot worse. Good luck with repairing the car and on buyin the new rim. Tickett.

Ouch. Take it easy...I almost wiped out once. I was taking a curving on-ramp at 65mph when I see a patch of water from the sprinkler system on the side of the road and I hit it. I hydroplaned and luckily I just let go of the steering wheel and grabbed it right after and held on. Why did I let go? Becuz if I knew if I kept my hands on the steering wheel, I prolly would've panicked and if I tried to swerve I prolly would've ate it.

Sorry to hear about what happened. i went out and bought a 1991 celi for my winter driving, figured i would save the miles and keep my celi safe. Snow is nasty to drive on, you just never know when you are gonna hit an ice spot.

Salt trucks don't make the experience any better either. All they do is damage your ride even more...especially if you are right behind one which seems to be my luck most of the damn time. DDDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to stay in Chi-Town. Born and raised on Damen and Diversey. North Side and West Side. Driving in the winter sssuuuccckkkss. Driving in Orlando is pretty cool. High Speed limits, lots of deserted roads and only rain to deal with.

Damn dude that's pretty bad-looks like we're in the same boat-hope a new rim doesn't run you too expensive. Good news is that you have no mechanical damage.
