can i just spray paint my brake calipers with paint. paint for brake calipers of course

I would recommend giving them a good cleaning and a light sanding first, but yes. Make sure you either mask around them VERY well, or take them off the car to spray them. I would recommend taking them off. Next, choose the color you want, you have a choice of what kind of paint you want to use. High temp engine paint (use the 1000 variety) works well. I have used Testor's Model Enamel on some of the calipers that I've painted, and have never once heard any kind of complaint about the performance of the paint. And finally, there is, of course, paint that is marketed specifically for brake calipers, which is nothing more than engine paint that is formulated to be a little thicker so that it can stick better to a caliper that is still connected to a parked car. After you spray the color, it would be a good idea to use a high temp clear coat to add some UV protection to the color, or it may fade. Really, it is pretty simple. I just used some engine paint and a year later it still looks great, compaired to the brake paint the engine paint is a lot cheeper
