ok i searched and i am still confused, what exactly is the difference between speakers and components, i was goin to get 4 polk speakers(6.5) but im seeing some posts talkin about gettin component set ups which i have no idea what that is?

components have crossovers and separate, removable tweeters. the sound quality is far superior to that of regular speakers

the component system has a seperate speaker for each frequency, for instance the tweeter is for highs, the 6.5 speaker for mids, and the subwoofer for low. therefore you get a better sound quality

Component come with tweeters.
Speakers are just speakers. tongue

so if you get componet speakers then you dont need to get a cross over or new tweeters????

no, they should come together as a package thumbsup

(i.e. when you buy a compenent "speaker" you're really buying a component set.)

furthermore, if you have more questions. i would take a visit to crutchfield [crutchfield.com] . they are extremely informative.

note: i would not buy from them, though. their prices are sky high. just use the info, find what you want (their selection is huge), and then get it somewhere else. thumbsup
