its an auto GT, they top out around that speed. You got too much resistance and no more power being generated. I have the same issue, but it doesnt bother me, do you hit 100+ all that often?

there is really nothing more you can do to unlock your top speed w/out adding mods. you may be able to reprogram (tune) your ecu to unlock a few extra horses, but this would probably strain your engine a little more and take a few years off of it's life. i wouldnt recommend it, if you want to go faster just add an exhaust and/or a cold air intake. its relatively cheap and they are very easy to install (bolt-on)

there is no governor or limiter on any of the new celicas. you are hitting the wall you car doesn't make enuf power to go any faster.

reset your ecu and see if it works. otherwise, the other way is quite expensive.

just cause your speedo says it can go 140 doesn't mean it can.

Thats tru the corvette says 200mph but only goes 170 i think, i think the gts's go 140 but on the gt's i guess it allows more room for more speed if you car goes faster.

no, the reason you top out is the engine cant push the car that fast because of the aerodynamic drag coefficient versus the power of the engine

P.P.S.I don't have any engine performance mods installed.
