What is that? I've never heard of that until recently. Something about the 2003 is built with "drive by wire" or something?!?! Fill me in on this, I never knew, thx!

Something about our car's being electronically throttled instead of cables...I don't get...

haha i just pm'd you about it.
anyways... the 03 models have DBW..which is an electronically computer controlled throttle system. there is no throttle cable involved.and its on most new cars nowadays.
if you look in your engine bay, the big black box that is right before the throttle body/intake manifold-where your intake hooks up to,is the DBW module(or whatever you wanna call it).

yes...it will never get loose.. like i said, its computer controlled, how much you press on the gas pedal determines how much the throttle will "open up".

tell your friend to tighten his throttle cable. it's a matter of tightening 2 bolts on the cable near the throttle body.

I don't see the difference, I know for a fact I don't have a black box there and I know I have that cable thing cause I believe one cable there is for the clutch. I don't know bout the wrap around part...

And I also have two pipes running through that square area...
Then again, that's a GTS engine, would it be different on a GT?

post a pic of you engine bay/throttle body..
there is no clutch cable in that area.
if you see a black box with wires coming out of it, that is the dbw module. i'll see if i can find some pics.

Here is what I know...
I have a 2003 GT and it is drive by wire...
I also know that I bought the aluminum pedals from a 2003 GTS and it was not drive by wire so I had to modify them.

I also know that a power FC cannot be used in a 2003 GT because it is drive by wire...

So if you have a 2003 GTS with drive by wire then you must
have gotten one of the first ones...

and the picture above with the nitrous is my car and it is a GT...

the only problem with a DBW is that a computer is controlling ANOTHER feature of the automobile.

I dunno about everyone else, but I don't like having a computer do anything for me while I drive. like cruise control, ABS, DBW

March 2003? Cause that's when I bought it and I don't got that little black box...unless they relocated it to else where
