doubts about customizing
Gosh...customing up a car seems so difficult. Kinda feel bad for my parents, dishing all this money. And costly...like if I wanna lower my car, I gotta buy whole new shocks, or get a kit, find a good shop to install and paint it. I guess what I'm asking is, if I were to custom my Celi when I get it (body kit, Intake, etc.) would I really be happy with it? Or, more precisely, how happy are you all with your custom Celis?

...I don't know what to tell you... Well.. every time when i buy something new for my Celica and then install it my self it's make me happy...
It's my hobby.I like to spend time on my car. wave
P.S. but don't start with expensive modes... start with something easy and not so expensive and you will see if it's makes you happy or not.
P.P.S. I have a friend who upgrade his computer, he is buying new modes for his comp and it's makes him happy...

umm..., yeeaaa... thats half the problem your spending all that cash on installtions, that would make me very sad too rofl buy a manual, break/ lose a few parts and learn how to DIY.
p.s. lemme ask ya a question, if someone were to ask what mods have YOU done to your car, what would ya tell em? W/O doin them your self the answer better be "nothin". 99% of the fun is installin yourself thumbsup

I love my Celica no matter what. Everything I've bought for it I know has been a worthwhile investment and made the car better so that makes me happy. It's up to you but do some mods that you want to do. What I'm saying is don't just get an AEM pully because you should, or get an Intake cause everyone tells you that you need one. I coulda spent a grand on some rims or springs but I want to have a PS2 in my car so I got a screen. Whatever makes you happy thumbsup

personally, I highly enjoy customizing things... my computer, the house, the website and even the car - it puts a nice warm feeling inside when I see something put together exactly the way I want it put together - down to every final detail thumbsup

But one thing I would suggest is that if you are going to be modifying your car to make it look like something its not - and by this, I mean putting body kit on to make it look like a race car, drooping it to give it more of an exotic look, tossing a huge spoiler or graphics on it to grab more attention and doing-up the inside with a full sound system or interior upulstry...

you will be drawing allot of attention to your vehicle - people will drool over it's looks if its done correctly - there will be haters full of horrible jealousy, wanting to vandalize your car - officers may classify you as the 'rice rocket racer boy' and are less likely to think twice before pulling you over... and finally, when you put all this work into your car and if someone opens their door into your's or a shopping cart dings it, or you bump a curb or someone drives into your car... you think twice about it really being worth all this troubles.

So the questions you should really be asking yourself are...

***Are you just looking for a daily driver that you can spiff up, but don't really care if it gets minor dings/dents every now and then

***Are you looking for a race car to show off at the tracks and overall body is meaningless to you

or

***Are you building a car that will be your jewel, one that you will be showing off to earn points at the local car shows - one that will be a 100% project car

...

Because if you try to accomplish the last two items I've listed while also keeping strictly with my first item, you will find yourself with much more agony in the end - you will worry yourself about vandalism/theft each time you park it - you will also be putting extra parts on your car that go against the other two points.

...

Conclusion: if you want the car, buy it - build it how you want to build it or don't build it at all... but always know what you are getting into before dropping big cash - no one likes a money pit happywink

I'd be happy earning every penny I put into my car. I have realized this as I've been buying mods. You will be 110% satisfied if you worked for it.

SIR Isaac: ur book did wat it had to do. prove a point, which you did perfectly.

I love doing the work myself.

Nothing makes you learn your car better than when you break somehting doing a simple install, and you have to dig deeper and find a solution.

rolleyes I broke a 50 cent light blub and had to spend about 4 hours taking my dash apart to replace the board I broke trying to solder the bulb in.

Fun stuff! thumbsup
