Is going with a 3" tubing for the exhaust a good idea when I supercharge my car? Would going any bigger be a benefit?

Sounds like a little overkill for a low to moderate boost supercharger setup. Defenitely don't go over 3" though.

yeah...going too big can result in too much backpressure loss.

Not backpressure loss since backpressure is ONLY bad for performance. Piping with too big a diameter allows exhaust gasses to slow down and cool therefore they don't flow as quickly out the exhaust, reducing performance. Backpressure is a detriment. 2.75" is good like Steven already said...
