i was thinking of getting the xs turbo kit, but i heard that it gets a lot of hp because it uses turbonetics TC, but cheap everyrthing else

would it be cheaper and a lot more bennificial (if not cheaper) to just get a turbonetics TC and a spearco intercooler, and customize it that way, isn't the hks sseq (or somrhing like that) blowoff valve the best, if so add that

oh and what else is required to turbo charge a vehicle
iknow it's a lot smarter to beef up internals for high boost but don't you need new intake manifold and exaust headers if so is the trd header ok, who makes good intake manifold

No one makes an intake manifold yet. FYI-you dont use a n/a header for a turbo. the turbo has it's own exhaust manifold which replaces the na header.

As for the blow off valve, the HSK SSQV vents the air it spits out into the atmosphere. other BOV's are recirculating and vent the air back into the piping before the turbo so it can be re-pressurized again.

To answere your original question, I think that you have an unreliable source for your information.

The XS kit doesn't even use a turbo charger from Turbonectic, it uses an IHI AX-1 turbo.

I think that the reason that the XS kit makes so much power is because of the high quality of every thing that comes with it IMO. The kit comes with the ball bearing IHI turbo, a full stand alone computer engine management system (apexi Power FC which retails for around $1000), larger Denso 525CC injectors, Apexi twin chamber BOV, Skyline GT-R intercooler core, K&N filter, and a ceramic coated header. Sounds like quality stuff to me. confused

If you arn't in a big hurry to turbo charge your car, I would reccomend waiting to see what Stafford comes up with. He has come up with a genuinely ingeneious pneumatic fuel management system that deals with the short comings of our non-returnable fuel system, as well as a clever alcahol injection system for increased boost for track days. His kit works with the factory injectors and ECU, so it will cost quite a bit less than the XS but so far he is still managing to make compairable power levels.

I am sitting tight for a while to see how this kit shapes up before I purchase anything. wink

thanx, i have been doing some research and that wasn't true, i had heard that about the turbonetics thing on here but it wasn't true, and you are right, and it will be a while until this project is truly underway so hopefully there will be some options by that time thatnx for the info again. thumbsup

Your not going to be making enough boost to use a BOV. Will probably have a internal wastegate.
