Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Lexus Window Tint : what is it?

what kind of tint is this?? ive seen it on the new lexus rx300 SUV's...its factory because its only on the back windows...it looks like a whitish/silverish tint...i have a white celica so i would like to tint my windows like this...anyone know what this is called or if it is available to everyone?

its called "Chrome Tint" here in Southern California...

If you are looking for it in your area, get out the yellow pages and start calling around to your local tint shops and see if they have it in stock, ready for install

they are not tint film but splattered metal on the glass. They have approximately 23% reflective property which is 1% less than the CA allowed reflective property. All the silver films thats sold in U.S. are all way above that and they are made for residential use only, which means they are illegal because of the reflective property and thicker than ones made for cars.
If you do not live in cop country then go for it, if you live in Irvine thats an automatic ticket.

isaachar007, down here in the south it's called mirror tint. Don't worry about cops, I've yet to even hear of anyone getting a ticket for it as long as you can at least partially see through.
