i have a set of rims and am lookin to paint them i've done some painting before but i heard that i could use the testor paint on the wheels and whould be fine to use is that true or so i paint them another way... input would be great thanks

Powder-coating is the right way to go. wink Its more expensive, yes. But it will also look so much better and last longer.

i had some SILVER colored rims painted and it actually stayed very very well. i was really surprised because i heard the same about painting that " they will chip " etc... but i would not do it your self.the body shop that did mine charged me like $100.00 for all 4 and YOU HAVE TO TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE GOING TO DRIVE THE CAR and they will put something on it that makes it hard as hell. mine looked great. thats my 2cents... LATER

i painted my rims black myself and it turned out great. do not used testors!!!

go to an auto store, they sell wheel paint in white, silver, and gunmetal and they also have a clearkote for it. i painted my rims black but since there was no black wheel paint, i used high temp engine paint, and then used the wheel clearkote over that. the total cost was about 25 bux and 3 days.
