Does anyone know the weight of the stock steel rims or how they compare to after market rims?
Also, to what degree can you actually feel the difference in performance, be it acceleration due to weight loss or increased grip by upgrading to bigger and more expensive wheels.
Thanks... just wondering
Stock 16" rims is pretty light, if you are planning racing then keep your stock rims for races. Unless you are totally going for performance rims like Volk which is like 6~8lbs for 16" rims I believe 10lbs for 17" and 14lbs for 18". Well lets take an example on why to buy these rims. Lets take average weight of 18" rim which is around 22lbs per wheel, Volk will save you 8lbs per rim which means 32lbs of weight off your car. Though its not a huge advantage maybe 1/4 second or less faster with same driver and same car but then in racing any bit of advantage counts.
