I'm not sure. I've always wanted to try one of those out and see if I could make any significant gains out of it. That is normally called an Electronic Supercharger, that particular model is just designed to look like a turbo. There are two things that you need to worry about if you are considering purchasing that item: 1.) Electronic superchargers normally take a lot of electricity and energy from your car, the more the worse. And a lot of people that have bought an ESC say that its like driving with the a/c on. 2.) The ESC will blow an above-normal amount of air into your intake manifold which can make serious power but you need to adjust your air/fule ratio because it will be too lean. You could maybe make some decent power if you bought a ESC and an S-AFC and did some tunning.

The electric turbo has been tried several times. The problem with them is finding an electric motor that will supply the required RPM (approx. 22,000) without drawing too much power. If anyone can find such a motor, I say go for it, but deffinately do your research, and it will cost more than $120 to build. AFter that, hook your motor up to a compressor housing from any turbo, and use a pressure regulator in the intake line to prevent the pressure from getting too high at low engine RPM or between shifts, in the same way that a blowoff valve works. Good luck, and PLEASE don't buy the Ebay crap!
