A while back GT Dan suggested to someone to raise compression on a GT for more power. How do you raise compression? Can you do this with stock internals or does that need modifying? confused confused I looked thru the archives to try and get answers but nothing that helped explain this.

This may be a bit off the subject, but I wanted to check the compression on each of my cylinders for my GTS. Could the Dealership do it, would they, and how much would it cost. Don't ask why i'm just curious?

Cannot be done with stock internals, but a good idea. That is where the gts gets some of its power. (11.5:1 compared to 10:1 for the gt). Different pistons would probably be the way to do it, but that's just opinion.

Changing the pistons with change the compression ratio. Monkeywrench has some. You can then throw some nitrous in there as well. But if you raise compression don't be planning on turbo in the future. Turbo needs low compression.

Oh, and yes the dealership can check compression.
