Well I got done a couple of days ago and finally decided to put the pics up, it is a very easy process. If anybody else out there is planning on painting their plastics, be sure to use Testors spray enamel to paint the plastics, than just any decent sealer to seal the paint. I used a dark blue for my plastics although in the pics it doesn't really look that dark due to the digi cam's bright flash and the fact that I had all of the lights on in the garage, but in person it looks really, really nice. Be sure to let me know what you guys think, thanks.

Looking good. cool

The blue doesn't look very dark at all in the pics. Your camera must have some kind of nuclear powered flash on it or something. tongue

Need some advice. I've got a grey GTS. What color you guys think I should paint my plastics, and what color CAI would look good with it? Need some suggestions. Thanks!

And by the way...the plastics look great. thumbsup

I've seen a lot of ppl with Silver Celi's paint their plastics red, so obviously then you would need a red CAI, and it looks really good, too. The red fits really well with it, i'm sure that their are sum pics in the gallery so go ahead and check it out. I think it would look sweet, and good luck. And thanks for all the comments guys, greatly appreciated. thumbsup

The paint becomes heat resistant I guess once you put the Acrylic Sealer on it, I suggested Testors because most ppl who have painted their plastics suggested using Testors, so I did the same and am glad that I did. About the center console im not as sure because the material that is made out of might be a little different from what the engine plastics are made out of, sorry I couldn't be of much help, but I'm sure tons of other ppl on this site can recommend what kind of paint to use, just ask around and you'll get your answer. smile

That blue looks very nice and the job Looks clean smile I'm about to paint my center engine panel and was curious how do you paint it and not paint over the VVTI emblem? I want to keep mine red also, but i dont see how you would mask it out.

Yeah good question, I was wondering the same thing because I also wanted to keep the VVT-i red. My dad put masking tape over the entire VVT-i sign an 16 valve sign, then with a small razor gently because off the excess tape, so once he was done there was tape over the lettering, not the plastics. It took about 15 mins to do the whole thing, and it was a careful process. And we sprayed over the tape (2 coats and the sealer) and as you can see it held up pretty good, it didn't get on the lettering at all. Hope this helped, if you need more info just PM me, peace.
